Keywords are the key to writing profitable articles.
Some keywords are more profitable than others, with long-tail keywords usually earning you a lot more money.
Google’s Adwords ™ tool is a free place to start, but it has its limitations.

Keyword Researcher – Free Version
This is a free download that gives you about 120 keywords based on your input word or words in just a few seconds. You are limited to phrases starting with letters A-M
Keyword Researcher – $29 version
When you pay your $29 your free download becomes the all singing, all dancing version. This version returns many more keywords, searching for longer, so you get more long tail keywords. You can also set the search depth, with a full depth search available that takes longer but returns a lot more search terms. There are no limitations on the phrases searched for.
Both versions allow you to customise the Google search to Google.co.uk, Google.ie, Google.com, etc. You just enter your search term with a * before, after or in the middle of it. The interface comes with Camera loaded in as an example, so ‘* camera’, ‘camera *’, ‘cheap * camera’ and ‘camera * beginner’ come to mind as possible phrases to search for.
There are training videos, but the interface is so simple you will not need them. You can download this tool and use it within seconds. It is based on User Searches, rather than Adsense data, so you will need to import your data into Google’s Adwords ™ or another tool. I use Keyword Strategy and can import thousands of keywords without Google saying that I have reached my limit.
