Intentions Are Not Enough

My daily post plan did not even last 2 days. Life got in the way.

I have started a post about infographics and planned one out, then had to leave the writing to cut the grass on the one dry day this week. I now have to work out how to do the actual graphics.

Sometimes you just have to do the most important job and keep working on the others at the back of your mind.

I am going to need to start getting up at 5am again to get everything done that I want to!

My To Do List (This week)

  • Sort out my Facebook page for 21CWoman.com
  • Start a Facebook Group for writers
  • Get my head around Twitter
  • Write a Kindle eBook
  • Write another Kindle eBook
  • Write an article at InfoBarrel
  • Write articles at this site

I am great at writing To Do lists; sometimes I wonder whether it is not more efficient to just DO the jobs.

Writing out this list has helped me to focus however, to sort out my tasks in order of priority

  1. Write articles at this site
  2. Write an article at InfoBarrel
  3. Sort out my Facebook page for 21CWoman.com
  4. Start a Facebook Group for writers
  5. Write a Kindle eBook
  6. Get my head around Twitter
  7. Write another Kindle eBook

My Writing Day

My mornings are my writing times. I have more writing to do so I will need to get up earlier. I can only do creative stuff early in the day.

Afternoons and early evenings is when I do my paid editing work.

Late evenings are when I post articles to my sites.

I switch off about 9pm and chill with a book for an hour or so before bed

The only flexible time I have is mornings, so the writing suffers when there is shopping, chores or gardening to be done.

I like to go for a walk in the mornings, too, so have to start to work that in as a priority before I start writing. If I leave it until later in the morning it never happens because the writing expands to fill all available time.

Your Day?

Different people have different commitments and work better at different times. When do you do your writing?

How do you organize your time?

How do you fit in any exercise at all? (This is the one that I find hardest)

Intentions are all very well, but they are not enough. I have to knuckle down and somehow extract an extra two hours out of every day . . .
