Setting Up Your First Website in Blue Host

Once you have bought your domain name in Blue Host you need to log in using the details from your welcome email. One thing about this hosting service that I like is that all this happens automatically and instantly.

Once you are logged in click the Domain Manager tab at the top of the screen. Wait until the page has fully loaded, then find the Shortcuts section on the left of the screen. Click the Assign a domain to your cPanel account link, the third item in the list. Accept any default check boxes.

Click on the cPanel tab at the top of the page. Scroll down until you find SimpleScripts Installations. Click on the large “W” WordPress symbol.

The WordPress installer opens in a new tab or window. Near the bottom of the page you will see Install WordPress. Click Install, enter your email address and accept the default settings. Click Accept conditions and install.

Check your email address for the log in address. Click and there is your first website. It needs a few changes and work, but setting up any website is that easy with Blue Host. You can add other domain names to your account just by buying the address and then assigning it to your cPanel account. Add WordPress and you have a second or third site.

It really does not come any more simple than this. I have tried other hosts but I stick with this one because they never give me any grief and their support is excellent. You will not need support if you follow these instructions but it is good to know it is there.
