I have a plan.
I plan to earn a million euro a year, I live in Ireland and I think in euro not dollars, from my article writing business.
It will take me five years, but I will do it. I have taken my first step and bought a 5 year diary so I can set my annual and monthly targets down in writing. I find that paper planning is still the best way.
I have set a series of annual targets as steps on my way to earning a million a year from my articles.
I am already well into the first year of my five year plan. In June 2010 I reactivated a few sites amd turned them into blogs. I also learned about Info Barrel and how to earn money writing articles. For convenience’s sake I am going to start Year 2 of my plan on January 1st 2011.
2010 earnings December …$20 a week. I started with $0 a week six months ago
2011 earnings target by December … $350 a week. A part-time income. The point is that this target is believable.
2012 earnings target by December …$2,800 a week. A full-time income. I expect to stop looking for a day job sometime in 2011.
2013 earnings target by December …$13,000 a week. 10,000 euro a week, €500,000 a year
2014 earnings target by December … $27,000 a week – a million euro a year
How Am I Going To Reach Those Earning Targets?
I am going to work my socks off. I will continue to write articles for my blogs and for InfoBarrel starting by 5,30am six mornings a week. I will continue to write for at least ten hours a day, seven days a week.
I will set monthly work targets. There is no point setting monthly earnings targets. If the earnings are less than I expect from my articles, I will just write more.
I have detailed monthly work targets in place until March. I will be constantly assessing my progress against these targets. The most important step to move up to the next earnings level is to outsource my article production, initially by using oDesk writers.
oDesk writers will write most of the articles I need to increase my earnings. I can only write 4000-5000 words a day. I need to increase that a hundred fold to meet my goals.
By January 31st I will have:
- 50 more articles on Info Barrel
- 50 more blog posts
- 30 more blog pages
- joined a Guest posting program called Postrunner
- 10 guest posts
- hired my first ghost writer at oDesk
- spent $100 paying my freelance article writers
I have cut down my Info Barrel writing from 75 to 50 articles a month to fit in the guest posts and oDesk management tasks.
By February 28th I will have:
- 50 extra Info Barrel articles
- 50 more blog posts
- 30 more blog pages
- 3o guest posts using Postrunner
- Hired a second oDesk writer
- Paid my freelancers at oDesk $200 for articles written
February is the month where I scale up the guest posts and the oursourcing
By March 31st I will have:
- 50 more blog posts
- 30 more blog pages
- 6o guest posts using Postrunner
- Hired a third and fourth oDesk writer
- Paid my freelancers at oDesk $300 for articles written
All my earnings from my articles are being used to outsource more articles. I will probably add money to my outsourcing funds each month from my savings.
The plan is to continue to increase the number of articles I outsource every month. I will probably put the articles onto another site and under a pseudonym to protect my own writing identity.
